Our History

Here you are in the heart of the Cahors appellation, to discover the origin of the famous grape variety Malbec. Let yourself be guided towards rare and intense delight. The Château Haut-Monplaisir, situated at Lacapelle-Cabanac opens its doors, and you are more than welcome.
When we took over this family property of 15 hectares in 1998, we had the ambition to create a genuine range of wines and to set up our own sales network step by step. Being autodidacts, driven by an urge for learning and being backed up by renowned technicians, we have taken our time to observe our terroir, to understand our soils and plants in order to extract the essence of our grapes. And while always remaining autonomous, we have approached Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe (Château du Cèdre), two of the greatest “creators of Malbec” in the world.

A successful collaboration, which allowed us to affirm with accuracy the style of each of our cuvees. After having decided to put cover growth in between the vines and totally ban the use of herbicides, we logically entered into conversion towards organic farming for the entire property. Started at our arrival at Château Haut-Monplaisir, this conversion is now accomplished. Today our estate covers nearly 30 hectares of vines.
In 2015, our daughter Mathilde joins us to hold the business and the marketing parts and obviously share our passion.
